The visionary of New World whites
With over 20 years at Concha y Toro, Max Weinlaub has played a pivotal role in gaining global recognition for the company’s white wines.
As a specialist in Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio, he aims to position Chile as a benchmark for these varieties. His experience began with harvests in California, and since 2000, he has been part of Concha y Toro’s winemaking team, contributing to creating brands such as Casillero del Diablo, Frontera, Sunrise, and Broccato.
He currently manages the Lontué winery, tasked with developing European wines while consistently applying a technical approach, a passion for detail, and a strong commitment to quality. I strive to impart to my team the importance of details, teamwork, and the relentless pursuit of crafting high-quality wines that satisfy our consumers worldwide. During harvest, what I enjoy most is touring the vineyards, tasting the grapes to determine the right moment to begin the harvest, and mentally envisioning how the wines of that vintage will turn out
“Casillero del Diablo represents the challenge of balancing quality and quantity. The team brings together its knowledge, experience and creativity to make Casillero del Diablo a successful brand that is recognized around the world”.
