Winemaker Héctor Urzúa

With an impressive international career and a strong connection to the Maule Valley, Héctor Urzúa has devoted his career to showcasing the unique character of reds from this iconic region.

His journey started with the 1999 harvest in the famous Côte-Rôtie region of France, known worldwide for its Syrah. It continued in 2000 at Australian wineries that specialize in this same variety.

At Concha y Toro, his career advanced as he became Chief Winemaker of the Lourdes winery, overseeing the vinification of significant brands in the portfolio. Currently, as the winemaker for the Maule Denomination of Origin, he leads the production of red wines with remarkable character and expression, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, for iconic brands such as Casillero del Diablo and Diablo. His work demonstrates a profound understanding of the terroir and an unwavering commitment to capturing the essence of Maule in every bottle.
