Gold Cabernet Sauvignon

Marques de Casa Concha Gold Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

DENOMINATION OF ORIGIN: Sourced from El Mariscal and Pirque vineyards, this Carmenere is harvested between the third and fourth week of March, ensuring precise ripeness and a true expression of each terroir’s character.,

AGING:

Aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, with 30% first use and 70% second use, delivering structure, complexity, and a precise integration of fruit and oak.

VINEYARD:

Located between 600 and 650 meters above sea level on the north bank of the Maipo River, the Puente Alto and Pirque vineyards lie at the foot of the Andes.
Puente Alto features alluvial, stony, low-nutrient soils with a gravel subsoil, creating low-vigor vines and concentrated clusters.
Pirque, one of the estate’s oldest vineyards, includes mostly grafted vines and some original-rootstock blocks from 1987, trained on bilateral spur-pruned cordons, faithfully expressing the Andean terroir.

TASTING NOTES:

Deep, dark red in color, this wine offers aromas of cherry, cassis, blackberry, and cedar, with a delicate smoky touch. On the palate, it stands out for its firm, well-integrated tannic structure, unfolding elegantly into a long, persistent finish.

SOIL:

Alluvial soil from the third terrace on the north bank of the Maipo River, rich in gravel and with excellent drainage ideal conditions for producing concentrated, high-quality clusters.

WEATHER:

Mediterranean Climatete strongly influenced by the Andes. The season featured a cooler-than-usual spring and summer, with sunny days and no rainfall during harvest conditions that favored excellent fruit expression in the wines.
